A special collection of Mother Goose books and ephemera will be on display at the library throughout the holiday season. Usually depicted as an elderly woman wearing a tall hat and shawl, Mother Goose is also depicted as a goose wearing a bonnet. The imaginary author has been adopted by many cultures, and her tales and rhymes can be found in many different languages, library officials said. Recruits Nicholas Cascioli and Nicholas Kringas formally graduated from the Police Academy on Friday, Dec. 18, at ceremonies held at the State University of New York in Purchase. Trumbull Driver Arrested After Nearly Hitting Patrol Car, Police Say TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Trumbull woman faces drunken driving charges after she nearly swerved into the path of a police car, according to a report in the Monroe Courier. Grace Calovine, 54, was stopped by police on Route 25 on Sunday after she drove near the center line, nearly hitting the officer's patrol car, the Courier reported.
