Pedestrian Killed After Hit By Car: Lacey Twp PD A 47-year-old Waretown resident was killed after she was struck by a car in Lacey Township on Monday, Aug. 11, authorities said. At 10:24 p.m., officers responded to Route 9 and Taylor Lane after a red 2022 Toyota Tundra driven by a 61-year-old Forked River man drove through the intersection and  struck Alycia Mullin, who was crossing Route 9, Lacey Township police said. Mullin was taken to a Community Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

Valley Stream Man Stole $500K From NJ Employer A 28-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested and charged with stealing nearly  $500,000 from an employer in Monmouth County, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 12. Joseph Hardoon's former employer discovered he stole $497,500 while serving as bookkeeper for an Ocean Township business between 2021 and 2024, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.  Hardoon was charged with theft by unlawful taking, Santiago said.

Rumson Boater Pulled From Shrewsbury River Dies: Njsp A 63-year-old Rumson man died after he was pulled from the water  in Monmouth County on Saturday, Aug. 10, authorities said. At 10:43 p.m., troopers responded to a vessel incident on the Shrewsbury River in Sea Bright Boro, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Juan Mejia was recovered from the water and transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Lebron said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
