Drowning Prompts Jersey Shore Town To Close Beach When Lifeguards Leave Following a drowning on Monday, Aug. 11, Seaside Heights Mayor Anthony Vaz announced the borough will be ordering people out of the water when lifeguards leave.  The water will be blocked off using gates between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., Vaz said, when lifeguards leave for the day, though exceptions will be made for surfers and fishermen. Bordentown Motorcyclist Killed In Crash 9 Days Before 21st Birthday Michael Anthony Fisher, Jr., a Bordentown resident, died on Wednesday, Aug. 6, nine days before his 21st birthday on  Aug. 15, after he was hit by someone making an illegal turn while he was riding his motorcycle home, his family said. According to Levittown Now, a 21-year-old Morrisville, PA woman was turning left form West Trenton Avenue onto Pine Grove Road in Morrisville when she struck Fisher on a Lawasaki street bike, traveling in the opposite direction.
