Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Lothian Woman Ejected, Killed In Maryland Motorcycle Crash, Police Say A Maryland woman died after being thrown from her motorcycle in a violent weekend crash that remains under investigation, police said. Katrina Prieur, 43, of Upper Marlboro, died after a crash in Lothian on Friday night, July 25, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Officers responded to the area of Mount Zion Marlboro Road and Main Street around 6:15 p.m. for a report of a serious motorcycle crash. Upper Marlboro Man Dies After Two Drivers Flee Maryland Crash Scene, Police Say A 25-year-old man is dead after being struck by two drivers who both fled the scene in a double hit-and-run crash in Maryland, authorities said. Antone Brooks, of Upper Marlboro, was hit around 9:45 p.m. Saturday, July 26, while walking in the 9000 block of Central Avenue in the city of Seat Pleasant, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
