Teen Girl Critical In Newark Shooting, Police Say A 16-year-old girl was shot in Newark Friday afternoon, June 27 and is in critical condition, police said. The shooting happened around 5:25 p.m. on the 100 block of Huntington Terrace near Lehigh Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. Responding officers found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Miranda. She was taken to University Hospital for treatment. The incident remains under investigation.
