Repeat Offender: Drunk Driver Caught Again Without License In Northern Westchester, Police Say A 43-year-old who was already convicted of a drunk driving offense in the past decade is again facing the music after being caught in Northern Westchester without a license while under the influence, police said. Public Park Torn Up By ATVs, Dirt-Bikes In Westchester: Suspects At Large Police are searching for suspects who damaged a park in Westchester that was already under renovation by driving all-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes over a field, leaving a number of tread marks.  The incident happened over Memorial Day weekend at Redmond Park in Yonkers on Cook Avenue, Yonkers Police reported on Tuesday, May 30.  According to authorities, the trespassers tore up the park's field with ATVs and dirt bikes. Lane Closures: I-684 In Bedford To Be Affected A series of upcoming single and double-lane closures on a busy highway in Northern Westchester will interrupt traffic for the majority of the day.  The closures will affect Interstate 684 southbound in Bedford between Exit 6 (Route 35) and Exit 5 (Saw Mill River Parkway) on Thursday, June 1, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.  The closures will last between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will facilitate bridge work.

Blaze Rips Through Northern Westchester Home On Memorial Day A raging house fire kept firefighters busy for nearly three hours on Memorial Day and left a Northern Westchester residence severely damaged. The blaze happened on Monday afternoon, May 29 at a residence in Cortlandt on Maple Avenue, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  Crews took nearly three hours to put the fire out, requiring reinforcements to arrive with cold drinks for the tired firefighters.  The blaze left the structure of the residence blackened. Luckily though, no injuries were reported.
