John Kempf, 81, Hackensack Resident
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- John Kempf, of Hackensack, died on Wednesday, March 22. He was 81.
An Army veteran, Kempf worked for PSE&G before he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann (Vallinino) Kempf; children John Kempf and his wife Stephanie, Tracey Stracener and her husband Phillip, and Amy Mondelli and her husband Todd; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters Elsie Janos and Brenda Kempf.

Virginia Schmidt, 83, Belvidere Resident
PARAMUS, N.J. – Virginia Schmidt – a Belvidere resident, formerly of Long Island – died on Tuesday, March 21. She was 83.
Before she retired, Schmidt worked for the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union Local 342 as a meat wrapper.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Schmidt and his wife Kay of Paramus; granddaughter Yuna Tsuji; and siblings Harold Schmidt, Madeline Kuil and her husband Bill, and Carolyn Drawbridge and her husband Jim.

MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Michael Soriano, of Maywood, died on on Sunday, March 19. He was 91.
A Navy veteran of World War II, Soriano worked for the New York Racing Association for 44 years as a horseman, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the Bergen County Harley-Davidson Club.

Albert Madorran, 84, Longtime Palisades Park Resident
PALISADES PARK, N.J. -- Albert Madorran, of Palisades Park, died on Thursday, March 16. He was 84.
An Air Force veteran, Madorran was a native of the Bronx who moved to Palisades Park in 1967.
He worked for many years as a credit manager for various companies, and he retired from Dowling Oil in Ridgefield Park.
Madorran is survived by his children, Michelle Mackey and Jean Marie Harner, and his grandchildren, Brian and Megan Mackey, and Emily and Gregory Harner.

EMERSON, N.J. -- Margaret Anna "Peggy" Erickson, of Emerson, died on Sunday, March 19. She was 94.
