Police, in a sting operation on Friday, Dec. 11, had targeted eight local businesses – including stores, restaurants, taverns, and gas stations. Their undercover operative was only able to buy alcohol at one of them, a 7-11 on Route 9W, police said. Dr. R.V. Ramani, founder and director of the Sankara Eye Institute in Coimbatore, addressed the club at its December breakfast about his organization’s role and mission.
